OUR FREE RANGE EGGS ARE PRODUCED IN A MODERN POULTRY UNIT, REGISTERED WITH DEFRA, ENSURING THE HIGHEST WELFARE CONSIDERATIONS
Our poultry unit allows our 5000 hens additional space, extra perching & scratching area and most of all a larger range area, allowing the chickens to lead a more natural and active life exploring and foraging freely and happily with the shelter of numerous well established native trees to enrich the range and provide natural cover.
A more natural free ranging life means healthy hens and high quality eggs.
All of our hens are vaccinated against Salmonella and we are part of DEFRA’s National Salmonella Control Programme to ensure egg safety. Our egg production number is printed in edible grade ink on each egg to ensure traceability.
Eggs are available at wholesale prices for resale to the public or for catering purposes. These can be supplied either boxed in pre-pack labelled 6 egg (half dozen) cartons or on open trays (30 eggs per tray), with a minimum order of 15 dozen. Eggs on trays are supplied in closed cases of 15 or 30 dozen with full traceability details and best before date clearly displayed. Please phone or email for more details or for a quote. All of our girls are re-homed at retirement via the amazing charity Fresh Start for Hens. They will continue to lay and give many more years of enjoyment as a backyard hen. If you would be interested in re-homing please contact www.freshstartforhens.co.uk.
