Our 3rd annual Open Day seems miles off but will soon be upon us! 

 

Open Day 2008, part of Open Farm Sunday, was even more successful than we could have imagined, with in excess of 1500 visitors, amazing for a 2nd Open Day!

With so much positive feed back and helpful comments on the evaluation forms we look forward to making next years event even bigger and better.

Our open day is a free entry event and receives both local and national advertising as part of LEAF’s (Linking Environment & Farming) Open Farm Sunday event.

Open Farm Sunday gives people the chance to visit the farm, meet all the animals and learn more about where their food comes from, talk to the farmers & see and hear for yourselves the wildlife that is on our farm. You can come for the day, enjoy a hog roast, barbecue or tea and cakes, take a short farm walk, browse the local craft stands and taste the local produce.

This year’s local craft & produce stands included cheese, apple juice, cider & ice cream.  Chic homemade housewares, jewellery, hand printed shirts, beautiful handmade baby products, stained glass, wildlife photography, animal houses & pet accessories.

You could try your hand at spinning some fleece, plant some seeds,  make sheep on a stick, enjoy an aromatherapy massage or even have your face painted.    Something for everyone!!
